TEA Beach Cleanup Day Report

We had 30 adults and kids at the TEA Beach pitching in to get the beach ready for opening day next Saturday, May 29th!  Thanks to all who came and helped.  It was great to see familiar faces and several new ones this year.

We managed to get the swimming dock out and secured along with the ropes and buoys.  We also spread the new sand out after raking out the beach.  We dug a hole and installed a post for the new chain across the entrance to the lower driveway.  We also repaired one of the garbage sheds and cleaned up the storage shed.   We tested the aerators — all is working well.  Some folks stayed later and raked out the entire swimming area, making it pristine for the opening of the summer season.  The kids were thrilled when we found a baby painted turtle swimming in the shallows.

There is a new lock on the new entry gate at the road.  Keys are being made and will be distributed as dues come in.  The new driveway chain and old entrance will also have a key which the lifeguard and TEA board members will have.  The main gate and driveway gate will be open during lifeguard hours.  The lower lot is handicapped parking only and will soon be marked with signs.

The beach is open to TEA deeded members in good standing via key during non-lifeguard hours.
