Truesdale Lake

South Salem, New York

Summer Season is Here!

Hey Sawyer, bury me up to here, OK? Sure Aidan!

The beaches are opening this weekend! Lots of activity around South Salem as well. The Memorial Day Fair is Monday. The 10k and 5k Races start early – 8am for the 10k, 9:30am for the 5k. The 1 mile kids race and the 4.5k health walk navigating the roads around Truesdale Lake start later on Monday morning.

The Truesdale Estates Association (TEA) kickoff party is set for Saturday, June 16th from 3-7pm at the beach on Truesdale Lake Drive. Members and associate member families are invited to attend and bring friends. The TEA Beach will have lifeguards during the weekends until school lets out. After then the beach will have lifeguards every day of the week except Mondays (weather permitting).

The TEA sand delivery was delayed due to this weeks rain causing wet conditions which affected the delivery truck’s easy access to the beach. Sand will be delivered and spread next week to get the beach in tip top shape for the summer. New ropes and floats will be put together this weekend. Volunteers are appreciated — many hands make light work. There are lots of floats to assemble and install.

The Truesdale Lake Property Owners Association (TLPOA) is planning a fishing derby for later in the season. The derby is always a fun summer event! Other events are also in the works.

The Sunfish racing season will officially begin the last Sunday in June and extend through Labor Day weekend each sunday at 1:30. Two official races will be run each sunday (weather permitting) with additional fun races possible afterwards if the wind is cooperative. The race buoys will be set up soon so sailors can practice on the course.
