Summer 2007: TEA Beach 50th Anniversary!

The theme for this summer is Five-0! June 9th Kickoff Party, t-shirts, etc. Read about it!

Summer Kickoff Party Date

Saturday, June 9th is the date (rain date June 10th) for the TEA summer kickoff party. The party begins at 3pm and goes through 7pm. There will be a DJ, games, burgers & hot dogs, and soft drinks. BYO desserts and salads. Contact Rosemarie McCarthy (763-0744) to RSVP.

Beach Hours

The TEA beach opens for the season Memorial Day Weekend and is open through Labor Day Weekend. The beach hours are 11am-7pm every weekend, 3pm-7pm weekdays until school vacation starts. After June 23rd beach hours are 11am-7pm every day, weather permitting.

Truesdale Lake Improvement Tax District

The Truesdale Lake Improvement Tax District is an ongoing project. This project aims to repair the dam, remediate and check stormwater runoff into the lake, and enable long-term financial and environmental management of the lake.

NYC DEP Grant Status

In 2005 the town applied for watershed grant money from the New York City Department of Environmental Protection to work on each of the 7 lakes in Lewisboro. One of the projects included work on the TEA beach area drainage issues. We are looking to get the project done this year. The website has detailed information about the project (called â€œSite #3â€ in lake restoration project - also search for "TEA Beach" to see video and photos).

Boat Stickers Required

TEA members can store boats at the TEA-owned lot at the corner of Gilbert Street and Lake Shore Drive. All boats (whether kept on your property or at the TEA boat storage lot) must have a valid Truesdale Lake boat sticker.

Volunteers Needed

The TEA Board of Directors is composed of up to 15 volunteer members from the TEA community. Six officers are elected by the board to operate the association. The current officer terms expire in the fall of 2008 and new officers will be nominated and elected at the Fall 2008 Membership meeting.

If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity either by joining the board, helping out with the lake management committee, helping with beach beautification day (Saturday, May 19th - details forthcoming), organizing a watersports day, participating in Lake Restoration Project meetings, or helping organize the 50th anniversary of the TEA Beach celebrations, please call Rob Cummings (763-0881).

Lifeguards for Summer 2007

We are seeking qualified lifeguards with American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification. Lifeguard must be 16 years or older. Full-time (3-5 days per week, including 1 weekend day) is preferred, but part-time is also possible.
