After cancelling the first race (Long-SW/SE/North) due to the 1 hour rule, we started the second race (1st official race of the day) with high hopes and a wind that was picking up. Everyone had a good start and the first seven sailors were close together around the north mark as Rob watched in irons. The downwind leg was slow going and the pack looked like a colorful drifting island from behind. Upwind, Skip was leading at the finish but then tacked when he thought there was an additional north leg to the course. this allowed Mike Sanchick to notch his second victory of the season, just nudging out Mike Dollar who took second. Jack and Mark placed 3rd and 4th with Skip recovering to pass over in 5th place. Ira was close behind and Rob took the final finish. | |
